La Otra Banda Ranch

La Otra Banda Ranch is located in the heart of the beautiful and historic San Luis Valley in southern Colorado.  Located just 70 miles north of Taos, New Mexico and 40 miles southeast of Alamosa, CO, we offer a unique fly-fishing experience that is increasingly rare.  The size of our water is misleading as becomes evident when our anglers hook into large brown trout that bulldog under deep undercut banks or large rainbows that can take the angler scrambling downstream, eagerly trying to regain line.

Other things to do...

The town of San Luis, Colorado is the oldest town in Colorado and there are many things to do here.

  • The San Luis Museum and Cultural Center tells the rich history of the Valley and it's people.

  • The Stations of the Cross is a beautiful Christian shrine that takes visitors up a small hill and presents each of the Catholic Stations of the Cross in dramatic bronze statues, culminated by a resurrection bronze at the top of the hill and adjacent to a small chapel.

  • The Great Sand Dunes National Monument is located just outside of Alamosa, Colorado, at the western base of Mt. Blanca.
